This competition is only open to members of the Sudbury Horticultural Society.

SECTION A - House Plants
CLASS:
1. African violet, single-flowered, any colour
2. African Violet, double-flowered, any colour
3. Miniature African Violet, any type, any colour
4. Standard African Violet, to be judged solely for its foliage and symmetry,
no flowers
5. Trailing African Violet, any colour
6. Bonsai, any type - created by the exhibitor
7. Cactus
8. Foliage plant (should be named)
9. Orchid, in bloom, any type
10. Succulent, any type (excluding Christmas and Easter cacti)
11. Any other houseplant, in bloom (not mentioned above)

SECTION B - Floral Design
12. "Amethyst" - a centerpiece using fresh and/or dried flowers in shades of purple and white
13. "Alpine Delight" - a small design (5" or 12cm in any direction) incorporating ground-covers and/or alpine flowers (dried and/or fresh)
14. "A Thousand Lakes & Rivers" - a water-viewing design
15. "Anne of Green Gables" - a design with foliage only, featuring various shades and textures
16. "The Ottawa Tulip Festival" - a vase of any, cut spring flowers in a clear glass container so their stems are visible...some tulips must be used.
17. "Cherry Blossoms in Victoria" - a line design including any flowering branches (may use pussy willows)
SECTION B - Creative Design
18. "Proud of Our Heritage" - a region (large or small) of Canada that displays a
particular heritage.
- Give it a title or description.
- Must be staged with a 36" x 30" space.
- Please call show convenor at (705) 692-1442 if you plan to enter.

SECTION C - Photography
19. A close-up of African Violet blooms (any colour)
20. Pussy willows or flowering branches in any setting
21. Reflection in a puddle or spring melt water
19. Rubber Boots !
20. Ferns and/or fiddle heads in any setting
21. Spring flowers(s), growing or cut
22. Water droplets on a plant (can be dew)
23. Ground cover (ie: Irish moss, creeping thyme)
24. Close-up of a spring bloom
25. Watering cans
26. Child or children in the garden
27. Trillium(s) - in the wild of course
28. Cacti or succulents in any setting
29. Exotic flower(s) in any setting

SECTION D - Hobbyist Arts and Crafts
30. Painting - acrylic, oil, water colour, pastel, or mixed media (must show horticultural content)
31. Textile Art - examples: rug hooking, needle point, quilting (must show horticultural content)
32. Garden Art - a work of art, any medium, suitable to place in an outdoor garden
33. Wind Chimes - any medium, ready to hang
PLEASE NOTE
All works must be original and must not have won ribbons in any of our Society shows.
Name of artist must be covered.

- Betina Hansen Award ....... Best Floral Design
- Liinamaa Family TrophY .... Most points in Hobbyist Arts & Crafts (Section D)
- Winifred Squires Trophy ... Most Points in Show

All entries must be original and must not have won ribbons in any other Society shows.
Bring entries to Market Square between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm on Friday
or between 8:30 am and 9:30 am on Saturday,
at which time judging will begin.
